Sparkle Coon Cattery

Welcome to Sparkle Coon Cattery, We are Annelie van Vuuren and Michelle van Vuuren owners of this maine coon cattery, based in Pretoria East, South Africa.

We started our cattery in 2007, 18 years of breeding experience with Maine Coons. Our Cattery is medium/large in size now. 

We obtained our first breeding pair from Lenthall cattery back in 2004, Blue Diamond and Georgie Girl. A lot of cats came and went in our cattery, Roselyn, Daisy, Rex and Lily. It wasn't until we added Sir Barnaby our first Polydactyl from the new Lenthall Cattery owner that we began expanding. We also added Iceland Paris Emperor (Dante) and Kamsky's Russian Zarres (Zoe) from Iceland and Kamsky Cattery. Zoe was rehomed after she had to undergo a cesarean with her last litter. We also got another polydactyl from Lenthall Cattery named Miss Patti Paige.

We kept one girl from Zoe's last litter named Jasmine. We decided to keep Jasmine's first kitten Cally, our first Calico. There after, Merlin and Sir Lucky of Barnaby.

We kept one of Patti's babies, Luna. A poly girl. There after kept Cinderella from Luna's litter. We then kept Ava and Tayla from Cinderella. 

We also rescued Arora from a breeder that had cancer. There after kept Pearl and Jade from her.

We got kittens from Chamonix Cattery a few years ago named Percy, Ariel and Dido which we ultimately decided to sell them to another breeder.

We kept alot of cats throughout the years but we only kept kittens from a select few of them.

Cats that we didn't keep kittens from:

Mia, Ray, Gabriella, Roselyn, Daisy, Rex, Lily

Our newer cats are from Good Heart Nurgani (Teddy) or Gentle Giant's Alektra.

Alektra was bred locally with two oversea cats. Russia and Polland.

Teddy was imported by a local breeder and was sold to us a few months later. He is from Russia.

Our kittens are HIV Aids and Leukemia negative.

We also had the pleasure get the approval of the SPCA.

Our kittens consists of variety of colours, they are raised with love, attention and a lot of space. Our kittens tend to be very playful and love attention, so be warned they will not be sitting on your lap the whole day. Kittens will only leave our home between 11-12 weeks old and will be registered at SACC- Southern Africa Cat Council. When they leave they are de-wormed and inoculated.

We do not Spay our kittens. You need to spay between 6-8 months of age, we supply Pedigree and transfer paper once proof has been given.

We normally re-home our grown breeding cats between the age of 6-7 years, when they normally aren't interested in breeding anymore.

Currently we breed with three studs: Thunder, Nurgani (Teddy) and Sir Lucky of Barnaby.

Our Queens consists of:   Pearl , Jade, Ava , Reeze, Silvy, Tayla, Lexie and Opal

We are concidering to get new blood in our cattery soon.
